A rainy Monday

It's a beautiful, rainy Monday and I have the day off. Supper will be pancakes and sausages. Easy peasy. So no worries about anything else. Except writing.

I like Mondays because I can focus on my story. Because many bloggers post on a Monday, I can study the structure of story or grammar or querying or marketing or any number of things that pertain to the crafting of the story and, hopefully, its eventual publication.

This weekend was a good writing weekend. I'm completing the second draft of my novel and I'm finally, FINALLY, in the last part of Act 2, the falling action.  I already have a first draft of my story. Extremely rough. Lots of holes. Too much backstory. I am excited to be this far.

Songs about Mondays

So I'll leave you with some songs about Monday and about rain that are swirling around in my head:

  • Monday, Monday by The Mamas & The Papas

  • I'm Singing in the Rain with lyrics by Jamie Cullum and sung by Gene Kelly

  • Just Another Manic Monday by The Bangles

  • Rainy Days and Mondays by The Carpenters
